Blackpool continued their strong run of form to pick it played four, won four in this new season. With only five minutes played, the score was 1-1. Blackpool taking the lead through an excellent break away goal, with Dave Morgan combining well with Liam Morrow. Liams first attempt to put the ball in an empty net saw him hit the post. The ball luckily rebounding straight back to him who second time round found the back of the net. Within seconds of the re-start, Crewe broke quickly and a chance shot from a narrow angle squeezed in between Goalkeeper Kilshaws right arm and chest guard top dribble over the line.
Scores level, and both teams then unable to take advantage. Before half time, both Blackpool and Crewe had chances to take the lead but frailties from the attackers and some good defending and goal-keeping maintained the scores level ’til half time.
Blackpool started the brighter in the second half, with Kieron Morrow, Blackpools Man of the match running the attacks from midfield. Dom Chadwick, Liam Morrow and Rob Pasqualino all failing to convert excellent opportunities. The usual slick short corner routine of Blackpools failed to provide the all important goal on several occasions.
With only 30 seconds left on the clock, a goal mouth scramble gave Dave Morgan the opportunity to grab the winner. A well deserved win to maintain the 100% record this season.
