Blackpool travelled to south Manchester to play top-of-the-table (2nd placed) Alderley Edge on a pitch which would suit the away sides quick play.
However, it was the home side which took control from the start and within 15 minutes were 2-0 up. After having been in the same situation last week and then fighting back to win 5-3 against Northrop Hall, the Tangerines knew it was not over so soon.
Quick interplay between Woodman and K. Morrow down the right flank produced a penetrating cross which saw Chadwick push the ball in from close range to close the gap. Then, within minutes of the end of the first half, Alderley Edge got two breaks and managed to score twice to open up the gap again.
The second half saw much of the same. Both sides fiercley contesting the play, both with chances in front of the goal, Jack Boniface , on a two Man-of-the-Match roll a strong defence at the back. However, towards the last 10 minutes Blackpool broke down to concede three more goals.
Next week, Blackpool face bottom of the table Daten at home. Having found their equilibrium in opposition, this must be a three point win to secure a place in the same division next season.
