Blackpool entered their 5th league fixture undefeated and started very well until the 15th minute where Tameside managed to grab a goal from a short corner, Blackpool quickly found themselves under great pressure as Tameside continued to press forward their attacks with another shot crashing against the crossbar & luckily going off for a hit out.
Blackpool came out from the half time break inspired from the captain’s team talk as they soon took control of the game & this soon paid off as Steven Whitley scored a more than simplistic goal from a well earned short corner. With the game tied 1-1 Tameside piled on even more pressure only for Mitchell Blakemore to pull off a fine string of saves to keep Blackpool in the game. With the final whistle approaching it was a matter of which team could hold their nerve the longest & unfortunately Tameside were awarded short corner with a minute to go and duly converted the opportunity to take the lead. The final whistle went with Blackpool in dismay on how their unbeaten run came to an end but not disheartened. This was still an excellent performance from an unlucky Blackpool side, with defender Pete Latimer gaining man of the match.
