Blackpool travelled away to the Wirrall on Saturday to play Bebington, new to Division 3 having been relegated last year.
Play began quickly on a fairly fast pitch with both sides jostling for possession in the centre of the field. A break down the right for Bebington and a scrap in the D saw a blind shot skip under the keeper’s legs and into the net.
Blackpool were not disheartened as there was still much time to play. Blackpool then pressed continually and saw most of the ball for much of the remaining first half. A well taken Blackpool long corner resulted in an ‘apparently’ reflex flick from captain Morgan past a diving keeper.
Level pegging at half time saw Blackpool needing to keep up the same work rate in the second half. However this was not the case, and despite good quick passing and plenty of opportunity in the opposition D, the Tangerines just could not convert their chances. This was made worse when Bebington went on to score 2 more dealing the killer blow to Blackpool.
Blackpool now languish at the bottom of the table.
