Blackpool’s first team entertained Bolton on Saturday. And entertained they were! Right from the off a slippery but super fast pitch saw a break down the centre only for a shot to be saved. However, with only 10 seconds played, Jack Boniface had to be subbed after twisting his ankle.
Play continued at a fast pace and Blackpool received their first short corner which captain Morgan put away to make it 1-0.
Bolton became frustrated and broke hard but the defence stood firm. With Boniface back on the pitch, he received the ball and drove down the right flank, a run into uncharted territory from Pasqualino saw him receive the ball and blast it first time into the top right hand corner.
For the remainder of the half, Bolton continually broke with pace but could not gain anything from it and became furthermore frustrated.
The second half saw much of the same, a close fought match with end-to-end hockey, both teams attacking and defending in turn.
Overall, Blackpool played well and deserved the win and are looking forward to a double encounter next weekend as they enter the quarter finals of the Lancashire Trophy and hope to continue their winning form in the league.
Man of the Match apparently went to Joe Boniface.
