Blackpool travelled to the Wirell with a number of familiar faces missing, allowing captain Abbott to freshen up his starting XI in the hope of turning round the run of poor form.
Adapting formation for teh squad available, Blackpool settled into the game well, and both teams unable to convert chances ensured that there was no score at the break.
It was Oxton however who took a important lead, converting from a well worked penalty corner. As Blackpool pressed for a equalizer, a mis-placed pass from captain Abbott allowed Oxton to break, with their striker placing the ball past the advancing Kilshaw.
With ten minuites to go, the Tangerines started to play the hockey that they were capable to, however the luck wasnt with them, epitimised by Dave Morgan hitting the upright twice. Blackpool did manage to grab a consolation with Dave Morgan passing Square before ALEX DIVER squeezing the ball into the bottom corner with three minuites left on the clock.
Blackpool returned home, pleased with the performance, but wondering what could have been without 9 players missing.Blackpool will be hoping for a change of fortunes next week at the newly laid Stanley Park against local rivals Lytham
