Blackpool 2XI travelled to Liverpool on saturday to face Mossley Hill which was another must win for the seasiders. Again the visitors, for the second week running found themselves 1-0 down due to some sloppy defending, leaving the Mossley Hill striker with an easy finish past crowded keeper Kilshaw. Blackpool responded well, turning the game around in their favor to take the lead 2-1 through two goals from on form Martin Hayes.
A lacking in energy Blackpool side found themselves behind early in the second half with the score at 3-2 after a pin point short corner from the Mossley Hill centre midfielder and a goal mouth scramble that wrong footed Kilshaw in the Blackpool goal.
Blackpool piled on the pressure in the remaining 20 minutes with numerous short corners but without reward. An equaliser came through left midfielder David Wright after a well worked passing move by Hayes, Hocking and Wright. A deserved point from the game, but Blackpool skipper Allen will be expecting a refocused 2XI team for next weeks game at home to Northern.
