The whole of Blackpool was rocking after Craig Brookes got his name on the scoresheet for the first time in History. Never has a town been so happy to see the ball hit the back of the net, so much it put Brett Ormerod’s on May 22nd into the shadows.
Having made a run into the Ormskirk Area, Brookes was slid in by Stand-In Captain Diver, only to find himself facing the Goal Keeper. With Grace, Composure, Precision and Power the ball was struck with the might of a thousand buffallo and the opposing Goalkeeper had no chance.
Diver himself had two goals but the day was that of Craig “Puyol” Brookes and it will be a day that will go down in the folklore of Blackpool Hockey Club for many a year.
