Blackpool came to sunny Bolton looking for a victory and once again Bolton wanted to spoil Blackpool’s 3 points party like they did back in November. Blackpool however were not the only team down in Bolton overseeing the proceedings.
Blackpool wanted and more importantly needed 3 points. They started brightly and had the best of the possession but things did not go to plan as Bolton took an early lead. Blackpool were still in good spirit mind you because of the bright start they had made and with this attitude came the equaliser through the blonde bombshell Chris Hocking who added yet another goal to his season. Blackpool were now back in the game and wanted to put themselves in a more commanding position and it came through a penalty flick which was converted by Simon Allen who placed it right into the corner out of the keepers reach, the keeper didn’t have a sniff with that one! Blackpool were playing with great confidence and the big Irishman converted again from a penalty corner. Blackpool really didn’t need half time as they were playing with a lot of confidence and were only two goals ahead which has been a fragile lead for Blackpool this season.
The second half was more open and Bolton had chances but Kilshaw saved Blackpool in a mad goal line scramble. Blackpool made it four mid way through the game and what a rarity it was for Simon Allen, who got another goal to claim his hat-trick, however it was a dubious decision to give him the goal but what has it got to do with me? Blackpool and Bolton were still going at it hammer and tongs but man of the match Ben Mortimer stood strong to many of Bolton’s attacks but Blackpool were their worst enemy when they failed to score on many occasions some of their players couldn’t even score in a brothel! However the man who found the fifth was the man who could give any girl wood, young Nathan Woodman got the winner after a superb pass from the Hunter.
Blackpool won 5-1 after a very good team performance and now need to carry on the team performances to gain the promotion.
