With the last game of the season and Bury already crowned Div 7N Champions with Didsbury defeating Keswick there was pride still to play for. Dispite a very sandy pitch (almost being compared to South Shore beach) Blackpool started well with captain Simon Allen putting an accurate arial ball to Mariano de la Lastra who laid the ball off to Jordan Payne who calmly converted past the oncoming Bury goalkeeper to get Blackpool 1-0 up. Shortly after some poor marking allowed Bury to play the ball round the defence to allow an easy tap in to bring the scores one a piece.
In the second half Blackpool were awarded short corner after short corner after some determined play by Josh Payne, Jacob Currey and Chris Pickles but Blackpool failed to convert. Then out of nowhere Bury managed to step up a gear and after a free hit outside the Blackpool 22 metre line the ball fell to a Bury attacker who deflected the ball past goalkeeper Kilshaw. Minutes later Bury took advantage of a defensive mix up and scored a third. Blackpool pressed ahead and this paid off when Rob Pasqualino converted from a short corner but Bury managed to hold their nerve and came out 3-2 winners.
Overall the game was a very competitive and congratulations are extended to Bury for becoming Div 7N Champions.
