Blackpool started with a youthful side playing in an attacking formation. Chances came early for front men Alex Diver and Will Pickles but failed to covert chances given. Blackpool’s defence looked vulnerable at times and Leyland Chorley knew this. The first goal came from a counter attack leaving the home sides defence outnumbered. A fluke shot took a major deflection and landed in the back of Nutter’s net.
Blackpool came back at half time with a slightly altered formation and line up. Hoping to press early Brent Whiteside and Ollie Tomlinson applied the pressure to show cracks in the Leyland Chorley defence. But yet again the Blackpool youngsters couldn’t quite finish.
Leyland Chorley had the majority of possession in the final 20 minutes and used this to gain a chance from a short corner. A clean strike from the top of the area left Blackpool with their heads in their hands asking what had gone wrong.
