Blackpool went into this game on a run of 4 league wins and were feeling confident with unbeaten in the league so far bury coming to stanley park and blackpool had every intention of beating bury for their first lose of the season. Blackpool started the game well some good passing between mortimer snr paco and currey resulted in blakemore mising some early chances which seemed to spur bury on and half way through the first half bury took a well taken goal after a number of saves from keeper rainbow. moments later a horrible taken from the bury goalscorer on mortimer jnr resulted ina confrontation with mortimer snr and both players were banned for the rest of the first half. Second half and blackpool really were pinning bury in their own half with mortimer snr blakemore and slater combining well to open up bury, and the 3 worked well together to create the equaliser for blakemore and then moments later a brillant individual goal from ben mortimer put blackpool 2-1 up but throught the combination of some interesting umpiring decisions resulted in bury coming back into the game and with 5 minutes to go bury converted a short corner with a good strike from the top of the D. due to a confrontation with both umpires blakemore was asked to sit out the final few minutes. all in all a great game of hockey from both sides and a great result for blackpool to take with them to bolton next week. where 3 points will be crucial if blackpool want to push for promotion. Man of the match is nick rainbow who made some outstanding saves to keep blackpool in the match.
